With the start of our new school year approaching a lot faster than I want it to (I know it’s only the beginning of summer but planning takes a lot of work!), I am knocking out some of our activity packs a little early.
During our morning circle time, we will be learning about the calendar. We will also have weekly Spanish lessons, so what better way to start of the year for La Oruga Muy Hambrienta to learn both the days of the week and learn some Spanish!
La Oruga Muy Hambrienta is a great book to also teach sequencing and the beginning, middle and the end of a book. It is also one of the only books I have seen where the day of the week starts on Monday, which is correct for the Spanish calendar.
LITERATURE BASED ACTIVITIES FOR PRESCHOOL
Use this activity pack to teach the days of the week and some of the food that the caterpillar eats. Also included in this activity pack are phonics, writing, science, math and reading activities. I have also included some ideas for Spanish conversation with your child about the days of the week and what they have eaten.
